Qxtender - User Guide - QB Direct File Mode Options

The Direct Mode Options dialog allows you to reduce the number of transactions retrieved from the QB data file. On large files this reduces the load time and improves plugin performance.

You must be sure that the dates selected will include the necessary transactions for the plugin you will be running. Most plugins need year-to-date figures, so selecting the option to retrieve transactions dated in year [editable year here] and later is usually best.

note: This option is not available if your Windows Regional Date Setting Control Panel ShortDateFormat is not set in the range M/d/yy ... MM/dd/yyyy (ie. a setting of dd-MMM-yy or M-d-yyyy will only allow you to retrieve all transactions from the QB file).

In Preferences, the default setting Show QB Direct File Mode Options for large or slow loading files will adapt to your system. At first, any file over 20MB will display the Options dialog. Upon repeated QB file loads, it will adjust the file size that triggers the opening of the dialog -- file sizes that take longer than 35 seconds to load will display the dialog.
